eTA New Zealand for Belgian Citizens

New Zealand Visa Waiver requirements from Belgium

New Zealand is one of the most remote countries, located amidst surrounding crystal clear waters, splendid marine life, breathtaking rainforests, wildlife, natural bubbling baths, hot springs and formidable caves. There is a lot to explore for visitors from around the world.

Traveling to New Zealand is becoming even easier for foreign tourists as the country will be implementing the New Zealand Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) for visa-exempt nationals from August 1, 2019. Together with the New Zealand eTA, the government has also decided to incorporate an International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL) in order for visitors to contribute in protecting and helping the environment as well as the overall infrastructure.

The eTA New Zealand for Belgian citizens will be valid for a period of 2 years, while the maximum stay cannot exceed a total of 90 consecutive days. The IVL, however, will be paid only once for the whole duration of the New Zealand eTA validity.

The online application for the NZ eTA for Belgium will be simple and quick to complete by answering a few basic personal questions. Upon approval, the applicant will receive the NZ eTA via email.

Do Belgian Citizens Need an eTA for New Zealand?

Belgium passport holders can enjoy visa-free entry to 184 countries, including New Zealand. Until October 1, 2019, Belgians can still visit New Zealand without a visa for stays up to 90 days. The same also applies to eTA NZ for cruise travelers and crew members.

Most goods traded between New Zealand and Europe pass through Belgium, leading to strong commercial ties and business relations between the two countries.

After October 1, 2019, obtaining an eTA NZ for Belgians will become mandatory. The eTA applicants will benefit from seamless border control processes in New Zealand as well as the elimination of any security risks, as New Zealand authorities will be able to better understand and identify visa-exempt visitors.

The New Zealand eTA for Belgian citizens is even more helpful for travelers because they can enjoy multiple entries during the course of the eTA 2-year validity.
